A week of conferences, activities, performances and presentations put the spotlight on the international environment at ESIGELEC. Every day from midday to 2 p.m. the school was decked out in the world’s colours to introduce the students and the school’s staff to the wealth of the school’s international work.
The 1st International Week at ESIGELEC, which was inaugurated by a conference given by Taiwan’s ambassador in France, Mr Lu, took place from 9 to 12 March 2015 in the different buildings of the school. Four themes were featured during the week :
- Arts and cultures
- International students at ESIGELEC
- Going abroad
- Music and dance (by ESIGELEC students)
The programme included a wide range of activities around these themes, as well as an information forum on international mobility.
Philippe Eudeline, Overseas Trade Advisor (and also President of Normandie AéroEspace and a member of the school’s board of directors) made a presentation about the Volontariat International en Entreprise (international voluntary work programme). During a round table, graduates spoke about their experience of the impact of international mobility on career prospects: Fabrice Wissmann (class of 2004), Sales Account Manager at Borg Warner Automotive, Farid Dussourd (class of 2006), Manager at Ernest & Young, and Yohan Dupuis (class of 2009), Project Manager at Cerema.
The international students were also in the spotlight since they presented their own workshops and conferences. Concerts added a festive touch to conclude the event in music on Thursday 12 March.
Alongside these events, three photo exhibitions were organised throughout the week :
- Photo exhibition Rouen Town Council / CESAR, « International students in Rouen »,
- Documentary exhibition « ESIGELEC students abroad »,
- Documentary exhibition « ESIGELEC graduates ».
Finally, the CROUS cafeteria took us on a culinary voyage every day, with dishes from the different continents on the planet.
