ESIGELEC’s Board of Directors has just appointed Etienne CRAYE, currently Director of the Ecole Centrale de Lille, Managing Director of ESIGELEC. On May 5th he will take over from Pierre-Olivier CHARREYRON who has been acting as Transition Director since April 2013.
After graduating with a DEA (equivalent of Masters) in IT from the École Centrale de Lille, Etienne CRAYE joined Centrale Lille’s staff in 1985 as a research engineer then lecturer following his PhD. In 1995 he became a university professor and taught industrial data processing. He was appointed Academic Director in 1999 and in 2004 he became Deputy Director in charge of corporate relations before he took on the role of Director of Centrale Lille in 2005.
He managed a research team in the "optimisation and supervision of complex systems" in Centrale Lille’s LAGIS research laboratory until 2010.
Étienne CRAYE is an elected member of the CDEFI’s permanent board (board of French engineering school directors) in which he acts as chairman of the Training and Society commission. He is also a member of the boards for PICOM (Pôle de compétitivité Industries du Commerce), MEDEE (electrical research), PRES, SATT Nord and CTIF (foundry industries). He has previously presided over the AIP Primeca network.
Etienne CRAYE is an “Officier” of the “Ordre des Palmes Académiques” (official French recognition for academics).
