Seven Russian students aged between 19 and 22, accompanied by Vera Sysoeva, came to visit ESIGELEC from 14 to 28 November 2012, as part of a partnership with the State University of Aerospace Instrumentation in St Petersburg. The young people discovered the school, the region and the culture of our country, on a programme combining French classes, company tours and excursions.
On the first weekend, the International Office guided the Russian students around Paris for a full day of sightseeing. On Monday, they went to Mont Saint-Michel, where they were able to appreciate the cultural wealth of the region. They also enjoyed a taste of the Rouen way of life in their spare time, with the French students they were staying with. On a professional level, the visitors toured the CISE platforms before travelling to EDF’s Thermal Centre and the Autonomous Port of Le Havre.
In June 2013, a dozen ESIGELEC students will be able to go to St Petersburg to follow a Summer University course. Students will have the choice between a month-long trip to discover the partner University and Russian culture, and a 2-month journey including an internship to complete their immersion experience.
For 8 years now, this exchange scheme has enabled students of both nationalities to add value to their engineering courses with an international experience at a foreign establishment.
