A group of ten representatives of major companies from the Chinese automobile sector and government officials from Ningbo were welcomed at ESIGELEC on Monday, 18th April, in a first-of-its-kind meeting with local economic stakeholders. The Rouen-Ningbo twinning arrangement celebrated its 25th anniversary last year and it is in this context that the delegation was visiting the important laboratories in the Madrillet Technopole area in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, giving them a deeper insight into the activities in the French automobile industry and related sectors.

The day's programme included presentations by the Ningbo team and of its automobile industry, discussions between the Chinese and French companies present and visits from key centres and laboratories from the Madrillet area.

“This visit has dual objectives”, explains Vincent Lemarchand, President of the Rouen-Ningbo twinning committee. “The first is to promote Ningbo and to highlight the advantages of investing there, and the second is to create links between corporations, research centres and specialist laboratories in the automobile industry, especially for green vehicles.”

After the introductory session in the CISE amphitheatre, ESIGELEC’s technology facility, the Chinese delegation toured IRSEEM, ESIGELEC’s research institute, CORIA and the CERTAM… An opportunity for the guests to get a quick glimpse of Normandy savoir-faire.
