ESIGELEC successfully participated in the 44^th EDHEC Cruise Race.

The ESIGELEC teams won 2^nd place in the men’s Sand Trophy event, 4^th place in the 100% Student Sea Trophy event, and 9^th place in the General Sea Trophy event !

The EDHEC Cruise Race ,held from 13 to 21 April at La Rochelle, is recognised as being the leading European students sports event and was sponsored this year by François Gabart, a well-known skipper. It welcomed over 3,000 students from all over the world for a week packed full of sporting and social action.

It is structured based on 3 trophies :

• The Sea Trophy: The historic core of the Race, every year the Sea Trophy welcomes over 170 boats and constitutes a key event in the federation sports calendar. Teams from schools and universities from 5 continents compete in coastal and tactical events with a view to winning the much-coveted title.
• The Land Trophy: But the EDHEC Cruise Race also involves a Land Trophy event where 150 teams compete in a multi-sports adventure race that lasts a week. It enables each of the participants to push back their physical limits whilst at the same time discovering the countrysides and cultural riches of the hinterland around La Rochelle.
• The Sand Trophy: Lastly, we come to the latest event, the Sand Trophy, which is now just five years old. A real success during the 43^rd EDHEC Cruise Race, with 56 teams involved (a new record), it offers students a convivial week during which they compete in a sand sports tourney involving beach soccer and sand ball, among other sports.
