From 25 to 27 April 2012, the ESIGELEC/IRSEEM Group hosted the 16th International Conference on Electro-Magnetic Compatibility. This conference was a venue for exchanges between over 200 researchers and industrial sector operators and gave them the opportunity to take stock of new developments related to this discipline: transport (automotive, aeronautical, rail), components, complex systems, space systems, test equipment, measuring techniques, digital methods, exposure to electro-magnetic fields, etc.
The conference opened on 25 April with Moncef Kadi's welcoming speech, the Chairman of the 2012 EMC Organising Committee, and the Manager of the IRSEEM Electronics and Systems Hub Eric Durieux, General Manager of the ESIGELEC/IRSEEM Group, and Dominique Gambier, a Research Delegate representing the President of the Haute Normandie Region and , then gave official speeches.
Alain Reinex, the current Chairman of the EMC Scientific Committee, eventually stated that his position was to be assigned to Moncef Kadi until the next conference event.
99 papers were received, 69 of which were presented orally, and 15 as posters. The 205 participants came from 8 countries: Algeria, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Morocco, and Switzerland. They had access to several sessions, which were held in the school’s three lecture theatres.
A free session devoted to outlining Electro-Magnetic Compatibility, supported by the Haute-Normandie Region, was available to the general public in the afternoon of 26 April. A cocktail party and a dinner held on Wednesday, and a gala dinner held on Thursday, enabled industrial operators and researchers to meet and discuss the topics at hand.
